For more almost two decades Democrats controlled this Eastern Montana seat, first with former Speaker of the House Gary Matthews and then Rep. Bill McChesney. With McChesney barred from running due to term limits, Republican Ken Holmlund set out to reclaim it for the GOP. Boosted by a robust Independant expenditure campaign from the MRLCC, Ken was able to garner 53% of the vote on his way to victory.
