The Montana Legislative Fiscal Division’s “chart of the week” shows how the state paid for its programs and services for the period starting July 1, 2014 and ending July 1, 2015.
The state’s “general fund” paid for $2.1 billion (39 percent of total) in spending.
The general fund is made up of seven primary revenue sources, of which 53 percent comes from individual income taxes, 11 percent from property taxes, and eight percent from corporation taxes.
