The Republican candidate vying for House District 65 in November’s election has raised more money in the past couple of months than her Democratic opponent has raised in the past year.
Jane Gillette, a political newcomer and dentist, raised about $30,600 between August through the beginning of October. Chris Pope, a Democrat, has raised $23,400 since October of last year.
The Gallatin County Republican Central Committee nominated Gillette in August to replace Rep. Jon Knokey in the race. HD 65 includes the northern part of Bozeman from East Valley Center Road to Huffine Lane and from Gooch Hill Road to North Rouse Avenue.
